Gulf State Park allows visitors the chance to fish from an 825-foot pier and explore or simply relax on 2 1/2 miles of white-sand beaches. The 6,125-acre park also provides ample opportunities for biking, boating, golf, tennis and swimming. Situated between the warm saltwater of the Gulf of Mexico and the freshwater of Lake Shelby, the park is perfect for a day visit or overnight stay either at the campgrounds or in one of the park's many cottages and cabins.
Open year round.
Free for daytime visitors, check website for overnight rates.
June 2009 not much shade, bathrooms were very clean and they have a/c. Not a bad site anywhere. All sites have weter, elec, and sewer very clean and paved level. Fire ants were everywhere so bring ant spray. New pool in 2010. Can't wait to bring the extended family and friends next year. We will be back!
